For many, smoking can be social. Kind of like drinking, it’s a chance to gather, relax, and interact with others. In many college parties, bongs will be passed around and people will partake. It has a community, a subgenre. It also is something that is cross cultural and certainly not specific just one community. It connects others. This glass was gotten from Vitrum Smoke Shop. It’s over in Coventry, The experience and social interactions there are wonderful, completely unique. The person who sold it to us absolutely loves this idea and is going to sign it after this presentation.

At the same time, smoking can be isolative. Alone. Depressed. Struggling. Parties never last forever. Reminders of the good times can sometimes get you through bad ones. We went around and asked as many people we can to sign this to be able to say that we are not alone. We have a community. Also, admittedly, we wanted the story of saying we brought a bong into class. More tales to tell our future communities.
